Manage personal health without confusing it with national healthcare.
Regular presidencies have personal health, fatigue, workload and governing capacity. These are fictional gameplay values. The country’s healthcare indicator instead measures national service capacity; it is a separate number. Personal-health penalties and care actions are excluded from the current shared Monthly Challenge.

Workload and age§
Ambitious policies, crises, legal friction and extra duties can increase strain. Older fictional presidents experience greater workload strain and slower recovery. Age does not determine the intelligence of a policy. Low personal health or high fatigue can reduce implementation capacity.

Care options§
A lighter diary costs 4 political capital and schedules seven simulated days of reduced routine work. A checkup lasts seven simulated days; treatment lasts 21 and normally requires health below 65 or fatigue of at least 65. Available care locations are Abuja, London, Berlin, New Delhi and Johannesburg. The overseas quality values are fictional balancing choices, not real health-system ratings.
Domestic and overseas care§
Domestic recovery improves with national healthcare capacity. Overseas care costs more political capital and can attract a trust or approval cost, especially when care at home is strong. Delegation and domestic risks remain relevant while the president is absent. Care is not a diplomatic mission and earns no diplomatic completion bonus.
Booking and recovery rules§
- Normally one care booking is allowed per simulated calendar month.
- Recovery progresses with successfully saved policy decisions; booking alone does not advance time or heal instantly.
- Medical leave cannot overlap diplomatic travel, and campaigning/debating is unavailable during it.
- Early return cancels unused care without a capital refund.
- Critical-health emergency domestic treatment has an accessible exception, including during a priority incident.
- Health continues into a second term; an ending closes an unfinished plan.
